About us
One of the largest Federations in the country, our region is rich in museums and stretches from the Welsh border to Lincolnshire, and from Nottinghamshire to Northamptonshire. Members come from every type of museum and gallery - small independents, big city institutions, military museums, local authority museums and art galleries. Meetings provide an information and ideas exchange for colleagues across the region, but the greatest advantage of Federation membership is the opportunity to hear specialists talk authoritatively on their area of expertise. In these days of tight budgets, the Federation offers great value-for-money training opportunities, specialist talks and collections-based seminars - all of which provide excellent, very affordable continuous professional development (CPD), and keeps you in touch with best practice in museums and galleries. More information about the Federation's activities is contained in our Strategy Tree (PDF document). Find out who is on the elected committee that runs the Mid Fed. Membership The benefits of Federation membership include a reduced rate for attending meetings, the Annual Report summarising meetings held and the Federation's advocacy work during the year, and the opportunity to apply for a bursary towards first time attendance at a national museums sector conference. Find out more about joining the Mid Fed.
